FLIGHT 1

2008 Argyle Pinot Noir Nuthouse Reserve Series – USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley Smoky and spicy on the nose, with dark black fruit, and roasted herbs. Huge and rich on the palate, the fruit really shines here. The herbs and smoke that are so strong on the nose, are very subtle on the palate. (91 Points)

2008 Jean-Marc Burgaud Morgon Côte du Py – France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Morgon Cherry and stone on the nose, with some game and barnyard aromas. It’s slightly floral in the middle, and has some raspberry at the end. Rich and meaty on the palate, with loads of cherry and raspberry. It has some floral notes on the mid-palate, and some stone on the finish. (91 Points)

2008 Amity Vineyards Pinot Noir Sunnyside – USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley Dark and spicy on the nose, it has black cherry and raspberry, with hints os of coriander and nutmeg. The fruit is much more subtle on the palate, and the spice is more pronounced. (91 Points)

2009 Sanglier Cellars Rosé du Tusque – USA, California, Sonoma County Lots of red fruit on the nose – mainly strawberry and cherry, plus some stone and floral notes. Great acidity on the palate, with bright cherry, strawberry and plum flavors. The finish was quite a bit of rock. (89 Points)

2010 Maîtres Vignerons de la Presqu’ile de Saint-Tropez Côtes de Provence – France, Provence, Côtes de Provence Strawberry and floral on the nose, with hints of crushed rock and citrus. The palate had great acidity, with a flavor profile much the same as the nose., except here the minerals were more dominate. (88 Points)
