2008 Bodega Numanthia Termes Toro Termes – Spain, Castilla y León, Toro The nose had raspberry and floral notes, chocolate and cherry, and a little vanilla at the end. The palate was rich, with raspberry and mocha, floral notes and vanilla, and a nice cherry finish. (91 Points)

2006 Artadi Rioja Viñas de Gain – Spain, La Rioja, Rioja The nose had earth and graphite, blackberry and cherry, and a big shot of vanilla at the end. The palate was smooth, with pencil lead and earth, blackberry and black cherry, and nice oak finish. (91 Points)

2005 Finca Villacreces Ribera del Duero – Spain, Castilla y León, Ribera del Duero The nose had smoke and floral notes, roasted coffee and spice, and some cherry and raspberry. The palate was soft, with coffee and chocolate, spice and floral notes, and a good cherry finish. (91 Points)

2008 Txomin Etxaniz Getariako Txakolina – Spain, País Vasco, Getariako Txakolina The nose had crushed rock and fresh peaches, a little apple, and some floral notes. The palate was crisp and clean, with apple and stone, floral notes, and a good peach finish. (90 Points)

2005 Bodegas Alejandro Fernández La Mancha El Vínculo – Spain, Castilla-La Mancha, La Mancha The nose had saddle leather and cedar, blackberry and raspberry, and a touch of spice at the end. The palate was soft, with blackberry and leather, cedar and raspberry, and a nice vanilla finish. (90 Points)

2006 Alonso del Yerro Ribera del Duero Maria – Spain, Castilla y León, Ribera del Duero The nose had leather and toast, espresso and cherry, and some blackberry at the end. The palate was smooth, with leather and cherry, coffee and blackberry, and a nice toasted oak finish. (92 Points)

2004 Costers del Siurana Priorat Clos de L’Obac – Spain, Catalunya, Priorat The nose had heavy perfumed spice, raspberry and stone, cherry and a little vanilla. The palate rich and tannic, with dark fruit and spice, and a spicy finish. (90 Points)
