FLIGHT 1

2007 Amity Vineyards Gewürztraminer Dry – USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley The nose had strong aromas of stone, lychee, and pear. There was also a little spice, citrus, and floral notes at the end. The palate was viscous, with lots of citrus and flint. It also had spice and lychee, and some floral notes on the finish. (92 Points)

2007 Woodward Canyon Cabernet Sauvignon Artist Series – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley The nose had massive amounts of dark chocolate along with fresh roasted coffee beans. There was also some raspberry and black currant. It ended with some spicy cedar. The palate had lots of sweet dark fruit, with mocha undertones. It finished with a big shot of oak. (91 Points)

2006 Panther Creek Pinot Noir Shea Vineyard – USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley The nose had lots of dark, black fruit. It also had some spice, and a little earth. The palate was soft, with bright, red fruit, spice, forest floor, and a very mineral driven finish. (90 Points)

2006 Milbrandt Merlot The Estates Wahluke Slope – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Wahluke Slope The nose had raspberry and cassis, cinnamon and roasted spices, and a little vanilla. The palate was soft and juicy, with raspberry and cherry, flowers and spice, and a little vanilla on the finish. (89 Points)

2006 K Vintners Syrah Milbrandt Vineyard – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Wahluke Slope The nose had BBQ meat, fresh ground black pepper, a little raspberry, and some sweet cherry at the end. The palate had tobacco and meat, pepper and sweet red fruit, and a perfume finish. (89 Points)

2006 Argyle Pinot Noir Spirithouse – USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley The nose had cherry and black currant, cedar and stone, and some spice and earth towards the end. The palate was soft, with cherry and earth, cedar, black currant, and a good spicy finish. (89 Points)

2006 L’Ecole No. 41 Apogée Pepper Bridge Vineyard – USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley The nose had graphite and black currant, spice, and a bit of raspberry. The palate had lots of spice and pencil lead, and a nice dose of dark fruit. The finish was a bit tannic. (89 Points)
